The Electron is designed to be maintained and serviced by any qualified auto electrician. With technical support from BEV, vehicles can be repaired and maintained as necessary almost anywhere in Australia (or the world).

Service requirements are significantly reduced as compared with the petrol equivalent vehicle – reduced by as much as 2/3. Since the vehicle has no internal combustion engine, engine oil, cooling, fuel, exhaust or alternator, it has two thousand less moving parts. The electric drive motor needs no maintenance, and on board systems monitor the batteries, alerting BEV when they need attention.

Regular servicing of suspension and mechanical drive elements is still required, but at a greatly reduced cost.

EV Maintenance Training

Kangan-Batman TAFE in Melbourne, in conjunction with the AutoCRC, has developed national competencies for servicing electric vehicles, working closely with BEV to achieve this. They purchased their own Electron to assist this process.
